Black Acrylic Star Chair
Snap Lens Academy // 3D Modeling
3D MODELING WORKSHOP
Our first introduction to 3D modeling involved building a simple chair in Blender.
CONCEPT I
The assignment was to build our own chair, import into Lens Studio, and apply a texture.
-
I wanted to explore my creativity in 3D modeling, so I built a star shaped chair!
In Lens Studio, I added a glass material to the mesh to give it the look of acrylic. This chair was my take on the Kartell Louis Ghost chair.
CONCEPT II
After the assignment was over, I wanted to continue further developing my concept. I had discovered a passion in 3D modeling, a new tool to create pieces of art.
-
Using a copy of the chair I already had, I cut out planes in the shape of a star, created a cushion, and a pillow.
In Lens Studio, I applied a leather material to the cushion to resemble “faux leather” and a then a fur material for “faux fur”.
I then downloaded an image from Pexels, and used it as the background. I wanted to create a scene for the chair.
Final Concept
A special edition acrylic chair with a faux fur cushion and faux fur pillow.

I would like to like to see this project evolve into a physical prototype
3D print miniature model. Use fabric for cushion + pillow materials
